Marian and Trevor crossed the Atlantic from the USA to celebrate their intimate destination wedding at Cavalli Estate in Stellenbosch — one of the most sophisticated venues in the Cape Winelands. Their day was relaxed, heartfelt, and beautifully understated — the kind of celebration that reminds me why I love photographing weddings here.
Cavalli’s Sunken Garden
The couple exchanged vows in Cavalli’s Sunken Garden, surrounded by fifty of their closest family and friends. The ceremony décor, designed by NConcepts & Designs with romantic florals from Anna Botany, was simple yet striking: a circular floral arch set against the estate’s sculpted gardens and mountain views. With expert coordination by Warren-Stone Weddings, every detail flowed effortlessly — leaving the focus right where it belonged: on the connection between two people who were clearly made for each other.
After the ceremony, guests gathered beside the dam for pre-drinks, canapés, and golden-hour views that seemed to last forever. That’s when we slipped away for portraits — my favourite part of any Cavalli wedding. The soft Stellenbosch light reflected off the water and vineyards, wrapping Marian and Trevor in a warm glow that makes wedding photography at Cavalli so unforgettable. Every frame felt alive with colour, texture, and emotion.
The reception moved to the Banqueting Deck and Conservatory, dressed in soft neutrals, gold cutlery, and flickering candlelight. Elegant stationery from Pretty Different and music by Next Dimension DJ brought a modern, joyful energy to the evening. Laughter, heartfelt speeches, and a dance floor that never slowed down made this night one to remember.
