6. Brenaissance – Stellenbosch

ZaraZoo has had the privilege to capture 5 weddings at Brenaissance Wine and Stud Estate. If you are looking for one of the best All-in-One venues in the Cape Winelands, this one is definitely worth considering. Brenaissance is situated in the Devon Valley just 6km outside the beautiful town of Stellenbosch, less than an hour away from Cape Town. The Estate boasts with one of the best views of the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountains.

The venue was completed in 2012 and has since risen in popularity and slotted in at number 6 on our list of Top Cape Town Wedding Venues. The owners have taken that old wine farm feel and incorporated both classic and modern elements in the purpose built function facilities. There are two wedding reception options, the Main Hall and the Rose Conservatory with the latter also doubling up as a stunning chapel that can seat up to 160 guests!

For outdoor ceremonies, there is the the rolling lawn or the river deck, both hugging the little stream that meanders through the estate.

The Main Brenaissance Hall is very spacious and versatile. It can comfortably seat 200 guests with a dance floor. This hall is a blank canvas that can be transformed to fit in with most wedding themes. The interior is the perfect mix of old-school and modern with textured wooden doors, a classic chequered floor bar area and a cosy lounge area with a fireplace. The venue is fully airconditioned to cater for the extreme temperatures that the Stellenbosch region can experience. It is fully licensed and comes with one barman.

5. Old Mac Daddy

Old Mac Daddy is most definitely not your usual wedding venue. Mention the term trailer park and you probably cringe… But wait until you see this place! The venue comprises of a luxury trailer park and lodge with 12 American-style vintage Airstream trailers, each decorated in its very own unique style. It’s these unique and arty elements that has propelled Old Mac Daddy into the number 5 spot of our Top 10 Wedding Venues in Cape Town.

The picturesque Elgin valley, just over an hour from Cape Town is where you will find this gem of a venue. Old Mac Daddy was designed to blend in with the natural rugged terrain it is set in and was built from natural materials and wood that are combined with modern architecture.

Ceremony options include the lawn area and deck next to the dam with the last mentioned my favourite. The venue provides stylish church pews for ceremony seating, bringing a bit of formalty into this mostly natural setting. After the ceremony is done, the lawn area

can also be used as a mingling area for guests while wedding photos are taken. Here, they can chill out while playing lawn games like French Boule and Giant Jenga

The Barn can accommodate intimate weddings of up to 65 guests, or even a bigger party if you choose the communal feast options such as a buffet or braai-style dinner. Even in the main reception area, the earthy / arty theme is followed through. The venue comes with unique, long rectangular wooden tables and modern, custom wooden chairs. Old Mac Daddy does all their own catering and you can choose from a variety of packages that include canapé’s, three course meals as well as braai-style wedding feasts.

The accommodation is probably the most enticing feature that Old Mac Daddy has to offer. The vintage trailers were sourced from the USA and commissioned to artists to transform into their own individual styles, each with a different theme. Old Mac Daddy is one of Cape Town’s best kept secrets but it’s becoming increasingly popular among those looking for a creatively driven platform, unique accommodation options and the perfect combination of art and nature.
