Incentive Trip on The Oasis of the Seas Cruise Ship

We departed early the next morning on our 7-day cruise.  My first time on a cruise liner – I must say I was a tad nervous about the idea of being trapped on a ship for so long.  Of course I had no idea of the enormity and space on and inside this vessel.  Imagine three and a half rugby fields end on end – if you’re a golfer, imagine the length of an average par 4 – I kid you not – that’s how long this “boat” is!  17 Stories high; 21 Restaurants, a shopping mall, bars, night clubs, 2 theatres, an ice rink, a casino, a putt-putt course, a zip line, an open-air park with thousands of real plants and swimming pools galore!  This boat is like the best seaside resort on steroids!!!

But the real reason I was there for was to work and to capture people having fun on this huge ship.  The difficult part of this was to find my “targets” on this ginormous floating hotel! I had to walk around the ship the whole day to try and spot people.  On average I did 15km a day on the ship alone – I know it sounds like a fib, but if you don’t believe me, I’ll send you a screenshot of my iPhone step tracker… 🙂

In the 7 days, we ported at Haiti for a lovely beach day;  then Falmouth, Jamaica where I took a very dodgy taxi to Montego Bay (aka Bob Marley song).  I must say I was quite disappointed, but to make up for it, I saw some very authentic Rastafarian fishermen on the way and stopped for a few epic shots.

Ending the Tour in Cozumel, Mexico

The last stop was at Cozumel, Mexico, home of a lot of Mayan Ruins and… tequila!  Don’t tell anyone, but I just had to have a margarita and a shot of their finest tequila (and that was in the middle of the day).  When in Mexico, do as the Mexicans!

Now that I’ve finished this blog post I realized I mentioned very little of the group I photographed!  You guys were fantastic and I hope you are satisfied with my documentation of your trip. Hope to see you all again next year!
